Cloud Native is the name for the new insights of designing, developing and managing applications. The Cloud Native approach leads to accelerated ‘time-to-market’ and higher scalability and efficiency.
\nCloud Native is about how<\/strong> applications are developed, not where<\/strong>!<\/p>\n

Organizations need a platform that makes this possible. From a technical perspective there are countless possibilities to go “Cloud Native”. In the meantime standards have been developed in the market such as Docker and Kubernetes, that make Containerization and Orchestration<\/em> possible.<\/p>\n

About Kubernetes<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

In a short time, Kubernetes, Greek for helmsman or pilot, has become the most popular platform for implementing, controlling and managing application containers over networks.<\/p>\n

Kubernetes (K8s) originates from Google’s Borg project (2003) to manage containers. This cluster management system was followed by the Omega project in 2013; a more flexible and scalable system. In 2014, Google released it in GitHub, and in 2015 the first release of Kubernetes came to life. Nowdays Kubernetes is the main “graduated project” of the Cloud Native Computer Foundation.<\/p>\n

Kubernetes has been embraced by all major players in the market such as Microsoft, Amazon, IBM, Oracle, RedHat and Docker and thousands of developers and ops engineers are working on it worldwide.<\/p>\n

Kubernetes is (Cloud) platform independent and has been introduced in IT environments since 2016.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

VMs are old-school. They cost (too) much computing power when running more instances and are therefore expensive. Containers have been the solution to this problem since the introduction of Docker; efficiency and scalability are the keywords here. However, how do you manage all those containers?
